Online Live Harp Classes via Zoom

7pm- Advanced level

Classes are offered live at Irish Standard Time & Video recording of full class is shared each week.

• I teach the tunes by ear during the live class on Zoom.

• Classes are 50 mins long

• Sheet music will be sent out in advance of each class.

• A video replay of the lesson is provided following each lesson for you to recap, allowing you to catch up also if you miss any live lessons. The replay will be available for 6 months.

GENERAL FORMAT OF EACH CLASS

• Classes are 1 hour long

• Classes are interactive, with teaching of new material & discussion during class. Classes are currently run on Zoom. Students require just laptop/device with camera with access to Zoom.

• Each week, I work on new material in each class, including many of my own compositions.

• I teach tunes by ear during the live class on Zoom.

• A video replay of the lesson will be provided following each lesson for you to recap, allowing you to catch up also if you miss any live lessons. The replay will be available for 6 months

• The recording allows all players to work at their own pace following the live workshop and means if a player misses the live teaching of the tune, they can learn the new material covered at their own pace.

• Each class focuses on ornamentation, chords, accompaniment, finger work.

Fliuit 2 is for intermediate and advanced flute players and is a follow-on to 'Fliúit', published in 2006. It is a tutorial to develop repertoire, ornamentation and breathing. Two CDs are included with 78 tracks. Each tune is played at a slow pace and then at a faster pace. Thirteen exercises are recorded to practice each type of ornament.

Fliúit 2 includes 65 arranged tunes, with breathing & ornamentation suggestions for each tune. There are over thirty reels and seventeen jigs in this collection to enable players to develop repertoire. A small number of the tunes require the use of the F natural and B flat keys, which offer a challenge to advanced players.

Clairseoireacht was commissioned by Music Generation Ireland, for The Music Generation Harp Collective, which comprises harp ensembles from Music Generation Laois, Music Generation Louth and Music Generation Mayo . The suite was premiered at The St. Patrick's Festival Concert in Collin's Barracks, Dublin in March 2022. It is comprised of 4 movements, written for harp ensemble & piano.
